An executive agreement is more commonly defined as an international agreement that is made by the president of the United States of America done outside of the formal treat ratification process. An executive agreement is a simple matter of acquiring the majority vote of both the lower house (House of Representatives) and the upper house (Senate).

An executive agreement is different from other political agreements in the sense that it doesn’t need subsequent implementation of bills from the senate chamber before being upheld. This is not to say that the legislative section of the government will be completely bypassed. Congress still has a voice by having the right to oppose any executive agreement by means of withholding the required implementing legislation. For the most part however, an executive agreement is usually initiated by the executive branch to address issues that need fast resolutions.

A president is given this authority to negotiate executive agreements by two sources. First, there is the power that is granted by the constitution as chief executive, and second is the specified power delegated to him/her via a prior act of Congress. Examples of executive agreements include GATT (General Admissions on Tariffs and Trade) and NAFTA (North America Free Trade Agreement). Note that plenty of executive agreements usually center around economic concerns.

The term coach is often associated with a sport or a box pulled by a horse. Referring to the former, a coach often defined as a person well-versed in a particular activity who lends his/her knowledge and expertise to those who need direction in said activity. Athletes, singers, actors, etc usually have coaches to aid them hone their skills and point out what needs improvement.

In the corporate world, there are also those who are experts in the field, and they are what we call executive coaches.

Executive coaching is for the most part, an interactive process created to aid inviduals to grow and develop their business/investing/managing skills in a fast pace. Most executive coaching is work-related and focuses greatly on improving behavior and performance. Executive coaching is goal-driven and results-oriented, providing personally tailored education for professionals who don’t have the luxury of time.

There are several key features in executive coaching. The first is that there is a limit on time– the coach sets a goal with a set of parameters, included time alloted. The executive coach is also time-limited, with hourly rates. Another key feature is action-oriented approach to learning, where coaches also take note of actions not simply results. Yet another is innovation, where coaches create custom activities for their students in order to hone the skills they have and improve the skills they don’t have. Lastly, executive coaching involves plenty of feedback, objectivity and an openness to suggestion.

Companies hire executive coaches for a variety of reasons. One reason is to provide support to an appointed senior person to a higher position, and utilizing their full potentials by exploring and accelerating their subject’s personal development. A second reason is to provide a critical thinker / sounding board to senior executives. A third reason is as a reward or retention of key staff who have been successful with the business.

There is an MBA and an executive MBA, meant for people who are in the line-up for some big promotions to the executive levels. Executive education doesn’t start from the basics– it starts with experience, and lessons are never the same for each person.

Most executive MBA schools offer more than simple education. Executives require a great deal of contacts, and a good university community is an excellent starting point. Executive education isn’t only about rethinking and redefining existing concepts to suit those in the upper echelons of the food chain, it is also a cultivation of inspiration, imagination and the drive to fill one’s mental well with a wealth of new ideas that keep on coming.

Today’s business leaders are always in the process of facing increasingly difficult challenges that affect the economy on a grand scale. Executives trouble themselves with growing globalization, rapidly evolving technology and the frequent irregularities of market conditions. As a result, executive leaders take cause to step out of their place of authority and seek assistance from the skills and knowledge of others, in order to provide a new perspective in their problems and eventually solve them.

Executive education is all about making a difference in the world, and transform leaders of every level into outstanding members of the community who can take their organizations to the next level. It teaches its students to recognize the power of human imagination, and what differences a change propelled by strategic and positive forces can make. Executive education isn’t just about business, it’s about people. Their programs are based on research and globally relevant structures that aim to address real issues that executives face on a daily basis.

Cardscan Executive is one of the world’s leaders in the field of business information technology solutions, specifically the transformation of contact information into actionable data. They create products that enable customers from around the world to centralize their data from all kinds of sources — business cards, emails, snail mail, web sites, data bases and other electronic files.

Cardscan Executive have elevated contact information management to an art form. They make use of drag and drop, export, import and synchronization features to make the process of transferring or accumulating data unbelievably convenient and simple. Their methods of identifying and reconciling double copies is seamless, and their back-up programs and secure servers are accessible anywhere. In short, their products make it easier for companies to get contacts and arrange them in a systematic fashion.

Cardscan was pioneered by founder Jonathan Stern in 1993. He had encountered the pressing business problem of turning vital information found in business cards into actionable date that everyone can use to organize and provide leverage to everyday business life. A lot of these recurring problems involved boxes and piles of business cards shoved into every nook and cranny of an aging file cabinet. As hard, physical things, business cards are bound to be mishandled or lost, no matter how careful the arrangement. Information can come and go unrecorded and some people just don’t have the time to sort things out.

Thus, Jonathan began his business. He first recruited Dexter Sealy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and together, they formed CardScan, the industry’s leading contact informations solutions provider. They came up with proprietary interpretative technology which can be used by customers any time and anywhere.

CardScan became part of Newell Rubbermaid, another global business leader in April 1, 2006.
With such a precise business that does one thing really well, it’s no wonder that many of the world’s corporate leaders turn to Cardscan for their contact information solutions. Cardscan provides intelligent yet devastatingly simply ways to capture and manipulate contact information and create efficient, user-friendly databases, and have thus built a steadily rising reputation for precision, reliability, security and flexibility. If they promise good service, they will give it.

Writing an executive resume isn’t all that different from writing a regular one. You’d still have to list which school you graduated from, how many years of education you have taken, what course you took, your extracurriculars, interests, positions you held and awards you’ve reaped. The difference is really on the way one tailors the job objectives, and the actual relevant accomplishments one can use to catch a recruiter’s attention.

Resumes are like stories, in the sense that they are generally prepared to be short and upfront to accommodate people who have low attention spans. While its true, executive applications only have at most a few seconds to capture a recruiter’s attention, and that each additional page significantly reduces the readability of the resume, it is quite impossible for some executives to compress and summarize several years of accomplishments into one or even two pages. Barring the use of almost indiscernible font, several pages are required, in order to capture the full extent of a person’s worth.

Executive resumes take the exception, in the sense that it’s perfectly acceptable for applicants to submit a multi-page resume. A decent length would range from 3 pages to 6. It is a much better strategy to provide, in detail the list of accomplishments one has made, instead of going on and on about career histories and companies. Every word written should have a purpose, and sentiments must be written so that it conveys one’s compatibility for a particular position. Every word has to be written with the intention of selling oneself to the company, instead of trying to impress them, so that even if your resume stretches to seven pages long, it won’t bore the reader and will lessen the chances of it landing on the trash bin.

An executive resume should also be more concerned with the employer’s needs, rather than his or her own successes, and tailor the resume to meet those needs. Choose a specific position in the company, instead of doing a mass application. It will show that you are dedicated to assuming a particular position’s craft, instead of shooting for everything, if you don’t get the position you want. You want to show your employer that you have the ability to solve business problems in a particular way, and that you thrive in meeting challenging goals to produce your desired results. This should be proved by your career descriptions and supported by your accomplishments. Do not start off with the responsibilities you undertook, head straight to the things you actually managed.

Another thing to take note of– every single facet of your life that can aid you to bag that executive position must be written down, even those past ten years ago. A common mistake of executive resume writers is that they only gather their 10-years recent experiences, paying little heed to their earlier beginnings. A diverse wealth of experience is knowledge always gives an upper hand, and makes the applicant more interesting to the employer.

It is elementary knowledge that in most democratic countries, there are three branches of government, each focusing on a particular segment in the entire scheme of running a country. These three branches are the executive government, which is responsible for the daily management of the state/nation; the legislative branch, which is responsible for the creation of new laws, and the reviewing and revision of old ones; and finally, the judicial branch, which is in charge of interpreting the laws, and handling large-scale court trials.

The executive branch of government is usually referred to simply as the “government” by many countries, simply because they’re the most visible, and they’re the ones that create national policies on a regular basis. It contains the head of government (president, prime minister, etc). While it’s the legislative branch’s duty to make laws, and the judiciary’s duty is to interpret laws, the executive is in charge of enforcing these laws, in accordance to the doctrine of separation of powers. However, this practice is not universal, and is sometimes overlooked. For example, the prime minister is the head of state, but is also the head of the legislature department. Some countries only have a president, others only a minister, and some have both, such as France, where both president and prime minister share executive powers.

In all its forms, the heads of government are always assisted by a number of cabinet members/advisers, each of which are responsible for specific areas such as education, defense, interior and local government, justice, energy, foreign affairs, etc. They also have a huge number of government employees and civil servants under their wing.

The executive branch’s exact role is dependent on the constitution of the country it runs. It’s main function is to do what is instructed by the legislation that was created by the legislative branch. They regulate the legislation to provide guidance to several sectors of the economy, such as health, culture, education, transportation, agriculture, etc. They are also responsible for collecting taxes and customs, and are in charge of providing the salaries of government employees and officials.
